Whirlpool approached us to challenge a long-standing belief present in several states across Brazil’s Northeast: that washing machines damage clothes. From this insight, we developed a campaign centered on care, caring for your family and caring for your clothes.

To address the subject with authenticity, every element of the campaign was rooted in local culture. Embroidery became a key visual language: a regional craft that not only represents the Northeast, but also symbolises care, patience, and delicacy, even with the most fragile garments.

The Look & Feel of Brazil’s Northeast
A region defined by colour, warmth and resilience. Its streets are vibrant, painted by the sun. Its culture is alive with music, laughter and movement.
More than a place, it’s a state of mind, where joy is expressed openly, community comes first, and everyday life is turned into celebration.

For typography, in addition to the brand’s core type family, we introduced Soulcraft, designed by Massimo Studio and inspired by Brazilian vernacular lettering common throughout the Northeast. Its inherent sense of movement was explored to subtly reference the motion of the washing machine, reinforcing the product’s performance while staying true to the campaign’s cultural narrative.

We then called northeastern embroiderers to embroider each element by hand. Exploring the mosaics with cobogós.
Each element was embroidered, photographed and edited to create our mosaic.

Cobogós are perforated architectural elements, traditionally made from clay or concrete, widely used in Brazilian homes, especially in service areas. They allow light and air to flow through while preserving privacy, and are a strong symbol of everyday life in the Northeast.
